HAMBLETON — Tucker County junior Riley Evans picked up valuable game minutes on the mountain Thursday with a game-high 17 points, including a trio of shots made from behind the arc to help the Class A No. 3 Mountain Lions best Harman, 87-16, and advance to the Class A Region II Section 2 title game on Saturday.

Tucker (21-1) will take on either Moorefield or East Hardy at Petersburg High School Saturday.

“We rotated players throughout. One of our bench players was the game’s leading scorer,” TCHS coach Dave Helmick said. “Kelcee James is getting better every game, and we are back to work going forward.”

Harman High School sophomore Jamen Dudley paced the Lady Panthers with 12 points on the road.

Rounding out the production for Tucker County was Sydney Moore with 13 points, Cecily Strawderman with 12 points and 4 steals, and Dominique Meadows and James with 10 points each. James also recorded 8 rebounds for the Lady Mountain Lions.

Tucker County has defeated both Moorefield and East Hardy in handily fashion during the regular season. Tipoff against either the Lady Cougars or the Lady Yellow Jackets is slated for 2 p.m. Saturday at Potomac Valley Conference host Petersburg High School.
