Harman girls best Meadow Bridge

HARMAN — Harman collected a 42-38 win over Meadow Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Jamen Dudley led the way for the Panthers with her first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She also had four assists.

Sheridan Bonner also turned in a double-double, her third of the year, with 14 points and 12 rebounds to go along with two assists and six blocked shots.

Alison Warner added nine points, seven rebounds and two assists and Rachel Spencer four points.

Makenzie Judy led Meadow Bridge with 15 points.

“We played a complete game from start to finish,” Harman coach Todd Raines said. “We controlled the rebounds and our passing was great.

“Our bench stepped up and we played a really good defensive game with a lot of rebounds.”

Harman is now 2-2 on the early season.

Summers County 54

Pocahontas County 43

HINTON – Class A, No. 7 and host team Summers County captured a 54-43 win over No. 8 Pocahontas County in the Rogers Oil Classic title game on Saturday.

Gavin Pivont fired in 21 points and Taylor Isaac added 19 points for the Lady Bobcats (4-2).

Kara Bircher led the Lady Warriors (3-1) with 12 points.

Brianna Hefner added eight points, nine rebounds and three assists and Laila Calhoun seven points and 10 rebounds.

The game was tied at 33-33 late in the third quarter before Summers County went on a 9-0 run to take the lead for good.

Isaac had 15 of her 19 points in the second half for the winners.

Pocahontas County will return home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to face Richwood.
