ABU golfers compete at Bill Blazer Memorial

PATASKALA, Ohio — The Alderson Broaddus men’s golf team finished seventh at the Bill Blazer Memorial hosted by Ohio Dominican at the Cumberland Trail Golf Club Friday and Saturday.

Brandon Talaska paced the Battlers with a 165 shooting an 82 in the opening round and an 83 in the second to tie for 38th. Travis Mayle added a 47th place finish shooting an 86 in the first round and an 84 in the second for a 170.

Elijah Riffe added a two-round 178 to finish in 50th while Kevin Martz finished with a 184 to round out the scoring.

The Battlers close out their season on Friday at the Great Midwest Championships hosted at the Big Blue Golf Course in Lexington, Kentucky.


CANTON, Ohio — The Alderson Broaddus women’s golf team used a bounce back second round to post a 10th place finish at the Cav Classic at Glenmoor Country Club Saturday.

Isabelle Castro and Savannah Jackson tied for 26th with a two-day score of 165. Castro shot 85-80 and Jackson shot an 86 and then a 79.

Taylor Ross chipped in a 171 posting a 90 in the opening round and an 81 in round two. Emily Isaacson rounded out the scoring with a 90 first and 93 second round for a total of 183.

The AB women close out their season at the Great Midwest Championships at the Big Blue Golf Course. Play begins on Friday.
