Rowe, 4×200 relay lead Elkins girls

CHARLESTON – Elkins High School’s Tiara Rowe turned in a pair of fourth-place finishes on the final day of the state meet Saturday at Laidley Field.

Rowe posted a time of 13.05 in the 100 and 26.46 in the 200.

She was also part of the 4×200 relay, along with Sofia Triplett, Brooklynn Howell and Kaleigh Edwards, which placed second in a time of 1:48.08.

Rowe, Triplett, Edwards and Anna Belan teamed to place fourth in the 4×100 relay with an effort of 51.87.

The Lady Tigers finished with 20 points to place ninth in the team standings, while Philip Barbour was 13th with 10 points.

Winfield (124) got past Bridgeport (121) to take team honors.

Gracie Miller, who was also part of Friday’s third- place 4×800 relay unit, placed fifth in the 3,200 (12:09.53) and teammate Audrey Williams was sixth (12:098.67).

Graylin Floyd turned in a time of 2:26.08 to place sixth in the 800.

Kennedi Lewellyn’s fourth-place effort in the pole vault (9-06) paced Buckhannon-Upshur in the Class AAA portion of the meet.

Cameron Zuliani was sixth in the discus with a throw of 108-08.

B-U tallied five points in placing 21st.

Ripley won team honors with 82 points, followed closely by Wheeling Park (80).

In Class A, Pocahontas County finished with 20 points to place ninth. The Lady Warriors were paced by Laila Calhoun, who was second in the 300 hurdles (47.59).

She also teamed with Tessa Kiner, Savannah McMillion and Kira Bircher to place third in the shuttle hurdle relays in a time of 1:09.22.

Tygarts Valley’s Landrie Lanham was 10th in the 300 hurdles (50.19).

Tucker County’s 4×400 relay of Karlee Smith, London Hood, Macy Nestor and Addie Buckley placed sixth in a time of 4:28.50.

Williamstown rolled to the Class A team title with 108.50 points. Ritchie County was a distant second with 52 points.
