WVU baseball tilt with GW canceled

MORGANTOWN — Due to inclement weather expected in the Morgantown area, Friday’s baseball game between No. 17 West Virginia University and George Washington was canceled.

The two teams will conclude the three-game series, and the regular season, with a single game as scheduled at 2 p.m. today.

Fans with tickets to Friday’s game may exchange them for today’s contest at the Monongalia County Ballpark ticket windows. Tickets for the regular-season finale also are available for purchase at WVUGAME.com or on game day at the ballpark. Admission for WVU students is free with a valid student I.D.

Prior to today’s game, seniors Ivan Gonzalez, Darius Hill, Zach Reid and Andrew Zitel will be recognized, and WVU graduates Hill, Reid, Zitel, senior Braden Zarbnisky and juniors Chase Illig, TJ Lake, Dillon Meadows and Cody Wood will be honored. Senior Day and graduation ceremonies will begin at approximately 1:40 p.m.

Today also is Armed Forces Day, with all active and retired military members eligible to receive a discounted $3 ticket by showing a valid military I.D. Additionally, there will be postgame autographs, and kids can run the bases after the game.

There are a number of ways to follow along with today’s action. The game will be streamed live for free on WVUsports.com/Watch and the WVU Gameday App, while fans also can watch the stream live via Roku and Apple TV by searching for the “West Virginia Mountaineers” channel.
