TENNERTON — Buckhannon-Upshur’s Isaac Lane shot a low medal mark of 41 during a nine-hole Big 10 Conference match hosted at Buckhannon Country Club Monday afternoon.

The Bucs also took the overall match victory with a four player score of 185. Lewis County took second with a 189, and Lincoln was third with a total of 207.

Philip Barbour participated with a current roster of three on the links, thus being “not eligible” for final scoring as the Colts are in rebuilding mode this season.

Evan Coffman, for B-U, and Kole Bozic, for the Minutemen, tied for the second-lowest stroke count as both players checked into the club house with a round of 43.

Rounding out the official score for the hosting B-U squad was Brady Hurst (49) and Landon Hitt with a 52. Also competing for B-UHS, Tucker Hurst nabbed a 54 while Brayden Hamer inked a 59.

The 2019 Philip Barbour golf includes from left, assistant coach Josh Halfin, Mason Halfin, Corey Martin, Sara Simon, and head coach Tyler Rogers.

Corey Martin paced Philip Barbour with a 53, while Mason Halfin (56) and Sara Simon with a 59 also pitched in for the Colts.

With the recent re-opening of Barbour Country Club, it is the hope of school officials that the program will once again continue to develop golfers for PB’s team.

Buckhannon is still making final adjustments to the upcoming slate, and Philip Barbour is scheduled to be at Green Hills Country Club in Fairmont for their latest contest next Monday.
