LSU transfer set to join WVU football squad
Australian punter Growden feels need position after graduation of Kinney
MORGANTOWN – Former LSU punter Josh Growden is set to join the West Virginia University football team.
As a graduate transfer, Growden, a left-footed punter, is eligible to play this year.
The native of Australia spent the last three years with LSU, averaging 41.4 yard per punt as a freshman after redshirting in 2015.
He was named to the All-SEC Freshman team that season.
He was used sparingly the past two seasons for the Tigers and entered the transfer portal on July 31.
With the graduation of Billy Kinney, place-kicker Evan Staley has been listed on the Mountaineers’ depth chart as the No. 1 punter.
