Colt golfers place third at Fairmont

FAIRMONT — A young Philip Barbour squad continued to look for their first match victory of the season Monday evening after coming in last with a 232 during a Big 10 Conference tri-match at Apple Valley Country Club.

Matthew Aman paced Bridgeport’s winning mark of 181 with an individual low-medalist score of 38. A trio of 48s from Josh Gervais, Gavin Webster and Jaden Gregory fleshed out the BHS scorecard.

Host East Fairmont claimed second place with a 212. Leading the Bees was Trey Cather after carding a 51. Jacob Laya’s 53 was second best for EFHS, and 54s were recorded by Tanner Bartholow and Lucas Paul.

Mason Halfin turned in a 55 to lead PB. Corey Martin with a 57, and Sara Simon with a 58 and Braiden Short with a 64 rounded out the Colts’ scoring.

Philip Barbour is slated to be at Grafton today.
