Leggett passes Liberty to win over Colts, 34-0
Moorefield uses strong first half in besting Tucker
CLARKSBURG — Noah Leggett passed for four scores to lead Liberty to a 34-0 win over Philip Barbour Friday night in Big 10 Conference action.
The Mountaineers (3-1) led 28-0 at halftime as Leggett hit Sayveon Beafore for a 6-yard strike, running back Seth McIntyre for a 31-yard score and Eli Norman on a 9-yard connection.
Beafore opened the scoring with an 8-yard run in the first quarter.
Leggett, a 6-foot-6 senior, also hit tight end Christian Cork for a touchdown in the third quarter to end the scoring.
Philip Barbour dropped to 0-4 on the season and will entertain Elkins at 7 p.m. next Friday.
Moorefield 48, Tucker County 16
MOOREFIELD –Class A, No. 8 Moorefield cruised to a 48-16 win over Potomac Valley Conference foe Tucker County on Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets (3-1) did all their damage in the first half, building a commanding 48-8 advantage at the intermission after erupting for 35 unanswered points in the opening quarter.
Dequavious Kornegay had touchdown runs of 5, 53 and 21 in the first quarter alone for the hosts, while Jaydon See had a 28-yard TD reception from Brent Moran and Roger Myers a 7-yard score.
Jackson Weese added a 53-yard punt return for a touchdown and Branson See a 5-yard TD run in the second quarter for the hosts.
The Mountain Lions dented the scoreboard late in the first half on an 18-yard pass from Liam Hood to Hunter Collar.
Tucker County (0-4) will be idle next week and return to action Oct. 4 at home against Pendleton County.
Moorefield will visit South Harrison next Friday night.
