Northern rolls past Tucker; TV goes to 3-0
PARSONS – Northern (Md.) scored touchdowns on all six of its first-half drives en route to a 62-0 win over Tucker County Friday night at R.H. Armstrong Memorial Field at Class of 1984 Alumni Stadium.
The Huskies (2-0) led 14-0 after the first quarter before erupting for 27 points in the second canto on a pair of touchdown runs from Jake Rush, a 33-yard scamper by quarterback Zach Hallenbeck and a 3-yard burst from Hunter Meyers, who led the visitors with 118 yards rushing.
Hallenbeck also connected with Isaac Bittinger for a 20-yard touchdown to open the scoring and Jamison Warnick added a 28-yard run in the opening quarter.
Northern, which rushed for nearly 500 yards on the night, found the end zone three more times in the second half on short TD runs by Anthony Paul and Kaleb Montgomery, and a 40-yard interception return for a score by Warnick.
Liam Hood threw for 94 yards, completing 10 of 24 attempts for the Mountain Lions. Jeremy Liller had four catches for 50 yards.
Tucker County (0-3) will visit Moorefield next Friday.
