ELKINS — Haylie Doyle scored a pair of goals to help lead Elkins to a 4-0 win over Taylor County Monday evening in middle school soccer action at EHS Field.

Laney Fletcher and Maddie Belan added one goal each for the Lady Hornets, who improved to 7-1-1 with the victory.

“I thought we played good team ball tonight,” said Elkins coach Levi Fletcher. “We passed the ball really well and our defense locked them (Taylor County) down the entire game.”

Elkins, which will return to action on Wednesday when it travels to Barbour County, received two assists in the contest from Addy Cogar. Darby Bailey and Fletcher added one assists each for the Lady Hornets.

“We seem to be peaking at the right time toward the end of the season,” said Fletcher. “Hopefully we keep playing the way we’re playing and we finish strong.”
