Tucker Valley holds off Elkins Middle

Hornets claim win in JV contest

PARSONS – Tucker Valley pulled away late in hanging on for a 42-34 win over Elkins Thursday night in middle school boys varsity action.

The Hornets (2-1) trailed by as many as eight points before cutting the lead to one with 2:38 left before the Wildcats made a run to win by eight at game’s end.

Brock Holland had 15 points and Griffin Boggs 11 for Elkins.

Ashton Lycliter paced Tucker Valley (2-0) with 15 points.

The Hornets took the JV game by a score of 45-30 as Aiden Lambert bucketed 14 points and Riley Rider added eight.

Mikey Mitchell paced the Wildcats with 11 points.

Elkins will host Pendleton County at 3 p.m. on Saturday, while Tucker Valley is slated to visit Moorefield at 6 p.m. today.
