Battlers place five in double figures in win

Walker nets 22, Bocook 20 as AB bests Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio — Alderson Broaddus placed five players in double figures in taking an 88-77 victory over Tiffin in G-MAC action on Thursday night.

K.J. Walker finished with 22 points and six assists to lead the Battlers, who improved to 5-13 overall and 4-6 in league action.

Malik Bocook chipped in 20 points and nine rebounds, Bruce Spruell 17 points and nine caroms, David Shriver 15 points and Troy Cantrell 12 points off the bench.

Wesley Jordan and Jarius Stevens had 18 points and eight rebounds apiece for the Dragons (7-13, 1-9).

Thomas Hickman netted 17 points off the bench and Trent Williams contributed 11 points.

AB trailed 41-35 at the intermission but canned 8 of 18 3-point attempts for 44% in the second half to help erase the deficit.

The Battlers were also 11 of 12 from the charity stripe on the night and committed only 11 turnovers. They held a 40-31 rebounding edge.

AB will step out of conference play for an 8 p.m. contest Monday at Bluefield State College.

Tiffin will host Ohio Dominican on Saturday, before playing the Battlers again next Thursday at Davis & Elkins College.
