Bright lights up Warriors for 25 points

Career-high from junior lifts TV to 62-45 win

DUNMORE — Josh Bright lit up the scoreboard for a career-high 25 points as Tygarts Valley claimed a 62-45 win over Pocahontas County on Wednesday night.

Bright, a junior, scored 18 of his game-high 25 points in the first half alone, as the Bulldogs built a 33-16 halftime advantage.

That was followed up by an 18-13 scoring edge for Tygarts Valley in the third quarter as the lead grew to 22, at 51-29, entering the final frame.

“Josh really came out on fire,” Bulldogs coach Tom Wamsley said. “His effort in the first half really allowed us to get off to a good start.”

Bright had five 3-pointers on the night. He was backed by nine points each from Logan George and Garrett Gibson.

Kolton Alderman led the Warriors with 11 points.

Tygarts Valley (7-5) will return to action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at South Harrison.

Pocahontas County (1-8) will visit Midland Trail at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
