D&E wrestling team goes 1-3 at Kutztown

KUTZTOWN, Pa. — Davis &  Elkins College faced a difficult slate of PSAC wrestling programs on Saturday, taking part in the Kutztown Duals hosted by Kutztown University.

The youthful Senators pushed their case on a national level on Saturday, taking down Shippensburg, a program that has been receiving votes in the Division II wrestling rankings, 24-19, in their opening match. D&E would follow with a narrow 22-21 loss to Millersville and would come up short against two nationally ranked programs — falling to Pitt-Johnstown 42-12 and host Kutztown 24-15.

Noah Tarr (165 pounds) and Kyle Wojtaszek (184) went 3-1 on the day, with their only defeats coming at the hand of nationally ranked individual wrestlers from Pitt-Johnstown. Craig Cook (133) went 2-2 on the day and Nicholas Natarcola (141) also went 2-2, pinning Pitt-Johnstown’s No. 12 ranked 141-pounder in the first period.
