Lady Colts fall to No. 1 North Marion

PHILIPPI — Philip Barbour ran into a buzz saw Tuesday night at the Colts’ Corral, taking on an 84-59 setback against Big 10 Conference opponent and double-A No. 1 North Marion.

The Lady Huskies bounded out to a 29-15 first quarter win before having a 54-30 cushion at the half. North Marion pounded out a 24-14 third quarter to be up 78-44 when the fourth stanza got underway.

Philip Barbour sophomore Alyssa Hill netted a team-high 20 points in the effort for the Lady Colts. Freshman Emily Denison with 11 points and junior Marissa Scheifelbein with eight points rounded out the production for PB.

North Marion’s Taylor Buonamici recorded a game- high 28 points for the visitors.

Philip Barbour slipped to 6-5 overall, and 2-2 in league play. The Lady Colts are slated to be at Big 10 foe Lincoln on Thursday.
