No. 4 Pocahontas improves to 12-3

CHARMCO — Class A, No. 4 Pocahontas County used a fast start to pick up a 50-32 victory over Greenbrier West on Monday night.

The Lady Warriors (12-3) started the game on a 12-0 run and never looked back in constructing a 28-10 halftime lead.

Both teams scored 12 points on the third and 10 in the fourth.

Laila Calhoun had 15 points and seven rebounds for Pocahontas County, followed by Alexa Taylor with eight points and five rebounds.

Charity Warder added eight points, six rebounds and five assists, Sienna Bircher 11 rebounds and seven points and Kira Bircher five points, eight rebounds, three blocked shots and four assists.

Kenley Posten had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Cavaliers (6-4), while Julie Agee netted eight points.

The Lady Warriors will be idle until visiting No. 8 Tucker County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
