D&E takes down Fairmont State
ELKINS — In their first home meet of the inaugural wrestling season, Davis & Elkins took advantage of a depleted Fairmont State lineup and strong results by their own wrestlers in a 44-10 victory on Saturday at the McDonnell Center.
The meet partnered with acrobatics and tumbling for the first annual Beauty and the Beast event in front of a large Senator crowd.
Vincent Scollo, Nicholas Natarcola, Chad Tracy, Kyle Wojtaszek, and Joseph Wilson won their respective matches by forfeit, scoring a total of 30 team points for the Senators.
Craig Cook established control early in the 133 lb. match, winning 9-1 by major decision. CJ Thompson was solid in an 11-2 major decision at 149 pounds, while Anthony Pencook overcame an early takedown to pin his opponent in the first period at 157 pounds.

The Senators will have a quick turnaround ahead of their final dual meet of the season, hosting (R.V.) UNC-Pembroke in their Code Red meet on Friday night. The meet is set to start at 7 p.m. in the McDonnell Center.
