HARMAN — Braydan Huffman recorded his 1,000th career point as Harman outlasted South Harrison, 80-70, in overtime on Friday night.

Huffman, who reached the mark early in the second quarter, finished with 27 points on the night as the Panthers outscored the Hawks, 13-3, in the extra session.

“(Braydan) didn’t know anything about (getting his 1,000th career point) until I called a timeout and announced it,” Harman coach Darrell Barnett said. “It was a great game and real barn burner.”

The Panthers clinged to a 17-15 lead after one quarter before South Harrison claimed the second canto, 18-10, to lead 33-27 at the intermission.

The Hawks increased their lead to nine, at 59-50, entering the final quarter of play.

Huffman and Clayson Knotts led the efforts for the Panthers in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Huffman knocked in 13 of his game-high 27 points during the span, while Knotts drilled three key 3-pointers.

Knotts finished with 17 points, while Michael Lambert added a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds.

Coy Teter contributed six points to go along with 13 caroms.

Harman (14-7) is slated to visit Calhoun County at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to conclude the regular season.

Austin Hunt had 15, Hunter Lipps 11 and Lucas Elliott 10 for South Harrison (7-14).
