Bulldogs cruise past Lumberjacks

PADEN CITY– Aidan Row collected three interceptions and hauled in a touchdown pass to help power Tygarts Valley to a 59-16 win over Valley- Wetzel Friday night in a game played at Paden City High School.

The contest was moved from the Lumberjacks’ home field because of lighting issues and the Bulldogs showed no ill signs of bus-lag after a three-hour trip to the North-Western Panhandle of the state.

Tygarts Valley’s Brier Daughtery recovered a fumble on Valley Wetzel’s opening drive that set up the first score of the game when Caden Boggs capped off a 54-yard drive with a 6-yard touchdown run at the 5:43 mark.

The Bulldogs’ defense struck again on Valley’s next drive when Rowe intercepted a pass and returned it deep into the Lumberjacks’ territory. Three plays later, Josh Bright raced in for a 23-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 13-0 with 3:23 left in the opening quarter.
