Colts, Bucs fall at home in openers
PHILIPPI – Grant Krajeski threw for three scores in the first half as Clay County claimed a 54-0 win over Philip Barbour Friday night at George Byrer Field at BC Bank Park at George Byrer Field.
Krajeski connected with Caleb Atha for two of the passing scores, while hitting Dalton Anderson for the other as the Panthers built a 28-0 lead at the half.
Clay County added two touchdowns in the third on a run by Andrew Adkins and an interception return by Elijah Payton.
Adkins and Matteo McKinney had scoring runs in the final canto.
Philip Barbour will travel to Buckhannon-Upshur next Friday.
Ripley 42, B-U 0
TENNERTON – Joey Ramsey accounted for four touchdowns as Ripley cruised past Buckhannon-Upshur 42-0 Friday night at Freal “Red” Crites Memorial Stadium.
The Vikings raced out to a 35-0 lead at the intermission.
Ramsey had 85 yards rushing with a score, caught two touchdown passes and returned an interception for another score.
Kadin Hall added a TD run for the winners.
Jayden Owens had 60 yards rushing for the Bucs.
B-U will remain home next Friday to face Philip Barbour.
