Lady Colts cruise past North; EMS girls fall to Taylor

RACHEL — Six different players tallied goals as Philip Barbour claimed a 7-4 win over North Marion Thursday night in Big 10 Conference play.

Braylyn Sparks had two goals for the Lady Colts, while Gracie Miller, Caylee Simons, Lydia Phillips, Macie Satterfield and Braylynn Travis also found the back of the net.

Graylin Floyd had two assists on the night and Travis, Garyona Riffle, Audrey Williams and Layna Grassi each had one.

Williams led the PB defense with seven tackles.

The Lady Colts are now 4-1-1 and will entertain Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Middle school girls soccer

Taylor County 3, EMS 2

ELKINS — The Elkins Middle School girls soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to Taylor County Wednesday night at Riverbend Park.

The Lady Hornets, now 1-2-0, trailed 1-0 before tying the game when Haylie Doyle headed in a corner kick from Addy Cogar.

The visitors then scored the next two goals before EMS added a score late in the contest as Darby Bailey sent a crossing pass to Layla Fletcher, who found the back on the net.

Erin Collins had six saves and Addison Carr three in goal for the Lady Hornets.
