Lady Tigers improve to 4-1

ELKINS — The Elkins High School volleyball team improved to 4-1 on the season with a straight set win over Preston Wednesday night at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

The Lady Tigers won by scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 25-10.

The EHS junior varsity also upped their mark to 4-1 by defeating the Lady Knights by the scores of 25-10 and 25-9.

Elkins will visit Robert C. Byrd on Tuesday and return home next Thursday to bttle Grafton for senior night.

Middle school boys soccer

B-UMS 8, Elkins 2

TENNERTON — The Elkins Middle School boys dropped an 8-2 decision to Buckhannon-Upshur on Tuesday evening.

Caden Boland and Lucas D’Angelo had goals for the Hornets, who trailed 7-0 at the intermission.

D’Angelo assisted on Boland’s goal and Greyson Chandler provided the helper on D’Angelo’s score.

Elkins was slated to host Taylor County on Wednesday evening.
