Bulldogs blank Ravenswood, improve to 6-1
RAVENSWOOD — Daniel White and Caden Boggs combined for 232 yards rushing as Class A, No. 11 Tygarts Valley blanked Ravenswood 30-0 on Friday night.
After holding the Red Devils (0-6) to three plays and a punt on their opening possession, the Bulldogs (6-1) jumped out to a 7-0 lead on their first drive when Josh Bright threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Jace Swecker.
Tygarts Valley extended the lead to 14-0 at the 7:47 mark of the second quarter when White, who finished the contest with 119 yards on the ground, capped off a 13-play drive with a 10-yard score.
After the Bulldogs’ defense collected a safety to make it 16-0, White bullied his way into the end zone for a 3-yard score just before the half to make it 23-0.
Tygarts Valley capped off the scoring early in the fourth quarter when Josh Bright, who finished 6 of 15 through the air for 104 yards, raced in for a 3-yard touchdown with 10:40 remaining in regulation.
Boggs tallied 113 yards rushing in the game and also had a pair of receptions out of the backfield.
Isaiah Casto led Ravenswood, which had 127 penalty yards in the game, with 114 yards rushing. The Red Devils had a mere 22 yards through the air.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to entertain Trinity next Friday at Bulldog Field.
