Hornets post victory over Bulldogs

MILL CREEK — In a rematch of a game played earlier this season, the Elkins Middle School football completed a sweep against Tygarts Valley with a 40-0 victory Wednesday night at Bulldog Field.

Due to COVID-19 protocol, Randolph County teams can only play in-county opponents or teams from other gold counties, which led to a second meeting between the schools.

The Hornets received touchdowns from Nick Bowers, Riley Rider, Kaden Phillips and Wesley Bond in the victory.

Jerome Thomason added a conversion run, while Owen Stanley and Phillips had interceptions and Devin Hulver a fumble recovery on defense.

Elkins is 4-1 on the season and is scheduled to visit Pocahontas County on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are slated to host Tucker Valley on the same day.
