Full slate of MEC action set for today
ELKINS — A full slate of Mountain East Conference basketball action is on tap for today as Davis & Elkins, West Virginia Wesleyan and Alderson Broaddus will all be at home in men’s and women’s doubleheaders.
Due to MEC COVID-19 protocol, no spectators are currently allowed to attend games.
D&E will entertain Concord, Wesleyan welcomes Glenville State and West Virginia State visits AB.
Women’s action gets underway at 2 p.m., followed by men’s play at approximately 4:30 p.m.
The league announced on Thursday all weekday games will be set for 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Saturday games will be at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The Senator men look to regroup from Wednesday’s 90-85 setback to Glenville State in their home matchup inside the McDonnell Center against Concord.
D&E (1-2, 1-2 MEC) led by as many as 13 points in the second half before the Pioneers closed the game on a 13-0 run.
Sam Rolle IV fired in 29 points in a losing effort. He leads the team in scoring with 19.3 ppg.
Breland Walton is averaging a double-double for the Senators with 16 points and 11.7 rebounds, while another newcomer — Marcus Fleming — is putting in 18 points per game and grabbing 9.3 boards per outing.

In Buckhannon, Wesleyan seeks its first win of the season when Glenville State visits Rockefeller Center.
The Bobcats (0-3, 0-3) are coming off a 73-69 setback at Concord.
Jaret Mulloly and Jaylin Reid each had 14 points for WVWC in the loss. Ross Young had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
In Philippi, the Battlers (1-2, 1-2) are in search of their second victory of the young season when State invades Rex Pyles Arena.
Josh Bradford tossed in 20 points and KJ Walker netted 16 points, five assists and four rebounds in Wednesday’s 94-82 loss at Charleston.
In women’s action, D&E looks to give first-year head coach Rachel Swartz her first victory as Concord comes to Elkins.
The Lady Senators (0-2, 0-2) saw Glenville State explode for 43 third-quarter points in their last outing on Wednesday in a 123-82 loss.
Jamiyah Johnson had a double-double for D&E with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Amiah Banks contributed 14 points.
Wesleyan faces a stern test, meanwhile, against the aforementioned Lady Pioneers.
The Lady Bobcats (0-2, 0-2) lost a 74-61 decision at Concord in their last game.
Courtney Wilfong had 19 points in the loss, while Abi Gaubauer also reached double figures with 10 points.
AB (1-2, 1-2) is coming off a 79-63 loss at Charleston as it hosts West Virginia State. Madeline Moyer had 21 points in the loss and had eight rebounds and Kristy Galea added 10 points.
