PHILIPPI — Davis & Elkins and Alderson Broaddus square off for the first time as Mountain East Conference foes at 5 p.m. today at Rex Pyles Arena in women’s play.

The men’s game between the old rivals was postponed due to the Senators pausing team activities due to COVID-19 protocol. The game is now scheduled to be played Feb. 15, while Saturday’s home tilt against Notre Dame College is rescheduled for Feb. 8.

The D&E women look to halt a three-game skid. The Lady Senators (1-5, 1-5 MEC) are coming off a 100-60 setback at Fairmont State on Monday and will be playing their third game in five days.

Senior Jamiyah Johnson was a bright spot in the lopsided loss on Monday as she scored 24 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, and in the process bucketed her 1,000th career point.

The Lady Battlers, meanwhile, enter the contest 3-3 overall and 3-3 in MEC play. They have won two straight, including a 90-81 win over Fairmont State on Saturday as Iyahnna Williams scored 17 points.

This will be the 94th meeting between the schools in women’s basketball, dating back to 1976.

D&E holds a 50-43 advantage in the series.
