Harman beats Hundred in WVHIT action

TENNERTON — Buckhannon-Upshur limited Elkins to just seven field goals in the second half in rolling to an 82-40 win Friday night in Big 10 Conference action.

The Bucs (10-4) held a slim 16-15 lead after one quarter before outscoring the Tigers 25-8 in the second to open up a 41-23 lead at halftime. A 17-5 scoring edge by the hosts increased the advantage to 58-38 entering the final frame.

Ryan Hurst bucketed 19 points, Lamar Hurst 17 and Josh Loudin 16 for B-U.

Cory Harper had 13 and Peyton Isner 10 for Elkins in the setback.

Both teams will be in action today as the Tigers visit Trinity and the Bucs venture to Grafton.

Harman 75, Hundred 48

LOST CREEK — Clayson Knotts and Lance Adamson both recorded career highs as Harman defeated Hundred, 75-48, in the Division II third-place game of the WVHIT Saturday at South Harrison High School.

Knotts finished with 29 and Adamson 14 for the Panthers, who led 41-21 at the intermission and hit 14 3-pointers on the day. Joe Fridley also reached double figures with 11.

Illias Fox had 17 and Christian Fluharty 10 for the Hornets.

Greenbrier West captured the Division 1 title with a 73-63 win over South Harrison, while River View defeated South Harrison, 52-47, in the Division II championship game.

Harman (5-6) visits Class A, No. 3 Pendleton County this evening.
