Bulldogs drop 3-2 decision to Gilmer
GLENVILLE — The Tygarts Valley baseball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Gilmer County on Friday night.
Both squads received strong pitching in the game.
Matthew Pratt started and went five innings for the Bulldogs. He gave up three runs on five hits, striking out 10 and walking just one in taking the loss.
Riley Tackett finished in relief, giving up just one hit and fanning one.
Ean Hamrick earned the win for the Titans. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and two runs, striking out four and walking four.
Avery Chapman earned the save in 1 1/3 innings, surrendering just one hit and walking one.
The game was tied 1-1 after one inning before Gilmer County took a 3-1 edge on single runs in the third and fifth frames.
Tygarts Valley added a run in the sixth inning.
Pratt had three hits and an RBI in the loss.
Garrett Gibson and Shaun Taylor scored runs.
Six different players recorded on hit each for the hosts.
Kyle Moss had two RBIs.
