Colebank’s career-high lifts Tucker girls to win

BAKER — It took Kadie Colebank just three quarters of action to net a career-high as Class A, No. 2 Tucker County cruised to a 75-31 win over East Hardy Thursday night in Potomac Valley Conference play.

Colebank, a 6-foot-0 sophomore, had 20 of her 30 points before halftime as the Lady Mountain Lions constructed a 41-18 lead at the break.

The lead swelled to 62-23 after three quarters as the Tucker County reserves took over in the final frame.

Gracie Rapp and Jacy Davis also reached double figures for the Lady Mountain Lions with 10 each.

Colebank added five rebounds and six blocks to her career-high effort.

Rapp also had seven rebounds, two assists and two steals and London Hood seven points and 10 assists.

Taylor Strawderman led the Lady Cougars (0-5) with seven points.

Tucker County, which was coming off a home loss to Petersburg on Tuesday night, improved to 11-3 on the season.

The Lady Mountain Lions venture to Elkins at 6:30 p.m. today.

TV bests Philippi

MILL CREEK — The Tygarts Valley Middle School varsity boys defeated Philippi, 46-32, on Thursday.

Kendall Armstrong had 17 points, Wade Cabaniss 13 and Ian Harris six for the host Bulldogs.

Tyler Sisson had seven and Braylynn Edwards and Kale Wolfe six each for Philippi.

Konnor Humphreys had 14 points and Patrick Webster 13 to lift the visitors to a 33-28 win in JV action.

Jacob Wamsley had 16 and Adam Wood and Austin Gear four apiece for TV.
