No. 3 Pendleton cruises to victory over Petersburg

FRANKLIN — Class A, No. 3 Pendleton County held Petersburg scoreless in the first quarter en route to a 72-28 win on Thursday night.

The Wildcats improved to 11-0 and will travel to No. 9 Tucker County this evening.

Bailey Thompson led Pendleton County with 14 points, followed by Josh Alt with 12.

Bumpy Vanmeter paced the Vikings (4-9) with seven points.

Pendleton County led 16-0 after the first quarter and 32-7 at halftime.

The Wildcats carried a 55-25 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Petersburg (4-9) is slated to visit East Hardy tonight.
