Harman falls to East Hardy; Lady Bulldogs edge Pocahontas

ELKINS — Elkins placed four players in double figures in claiming a 66-49 win over Petersburg Monday night at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

Cory Harper led the Tigers (7-6) with 14 points, followed by Mitchell Price and Jaydon Shreve with 12 each and Malachi Watson with 10.

Jacob Hawk and Bumpy Vanmeter had 12 each for the Vikings (3-6).

Elkins will remain home at 7:30 p.m. Wedneday to face Big 10 Conference rival Philip Barbour.

BAKER — Justin Teets tossed in 20 points as East Hardy rallied for a 74-59 win over Harman Monday in PVC play.

The Panthers (4-6) led 33-30 at halftime before being outscored 19-9 in the third frame.

Joe Fridley and Mason Eye each fired in 18 points for Harman. Clayson Knotts added 11.

Dawson Price chipped in 18, Christian Dove 15 and Noah Lang 11 for East Hardy (3-6).

Harman will face Hundred at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at South Harrison in WVHIT championhip day

DUNMORE ­– Landrie Lanham’s free throw with 2.6 seconds left in regulation lifted Tygarts Valley to a 39-38 win over Pocahontas County on Monday night.

After the Lady Warriors tied the game on a 3-pointer by Kiersten Taylor with 8.7 seconds left, Lanham drove the length of the court and was fouled. She missed the second attempt but grabbed the rebound to secure the win.

Lanham had 12 points and Claire Smith 10 for the Lady Bulldogs.

Sienna Bircher had 11 points and Macaden Taylor and Tessa Kiner 10 each for Pocahontas County.
