Tucker girls rally past Moorefield; Pocahontas wins

MOOREFIELD — Class A, No. 2 Tucker County rallied late to defeat Moorefield, 49-47, on Thursday.

The Lady Mountain Lions (14-4) trailed 47-45 with less than a minute left before scoring four straight to end the contest.

Kadie Colebank led Tucker with 11 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. London Hood added a game-high 19 points and four assists.

The Lady Yellow Jackets were paced by Lexi Gilhuys with 18 points, Amber Williams with 12 and Remi Hinkle with 10.

Tucker County will host the winner of Tuesday’s game between Union and East Hardy Thursday in the sectional semifinals.

Pocahontas County 45

Greenbrier West 21

CHARMCO — Pocahontas County picked up a 45-21 win over Greenbrier West on Wednesday.

Tessa Kiner scored 18 points and dished out four assists for the Lady Warriors, while Sienna Bicher added nine points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks, Macaden Taylor six points, five rebounds and three steaks and Kierstin Taylor five points and five steals.

Meagan Poticher led the Lady Cavaliers (1-14) with 11 points and 18 rebounds.

Pocahontas County (4-7) will travel to Moorefield at 1 p.m. Saturday to conclude the regular season.
