Kiley Edwards places fourth in 400, Berdine and Smoak among top 10 in 3,200

CHARLESTON — The Elkins High School girls collected some points the night before the Class AA state meet kicks into high gear today as sophomore Kiley Edwards placed fourth in the 400-meter dash at University of Charleston Stadium at Laidley Field.

Edwards posted a time of 1:02.65. Winfield’s Allie German won the event with an effort of 59.70.

Lady Tiger freshman Gracelin Corley was 14th (1:07.03).

In Thursday night’s 3,200-meter run, Elkins senior Addie Berdine was ninth (12:55.43). Winfield’s Rachel Withrow took the title in 11:21.67.

Junior Charlie Smoak placed seventh in the boys’ 3,200 (10:06.33) for the Tigers, while Fairmont Senior’s Logan Zuchelli placed first.
