Best Virginia faces Team 23 tonight in round of 16
CHARLESTON — Best Virginia faces Team 23 in The Basketball Tournament round of 16 tonight at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
Game time is scheduled for 9 p.m. and the action will be aired live on ESPN3.
The victor advances to Dayton, Ohio, for quarterfinal action set to begin on July 31. The championship game will be held on Aug. 3.
Second-seed Best Virginia is comprised of West Virginia University alumni, with the exception of former Fairmont State standout Jamel Morris.
Kevin Jones had 12 points and six rebounds in Best Virginia’s 63-51 victory over D2 on Monday night. Morris, Tarik Phillip and Nathan Adrian added 11 points each.
Sixth-seed Team 23 defeated Marshall alumni squad Herd That, 74-71, on Monday to advance.
Bucketneers will battle top-seed Sideline Cancer at 7 p.m. in today’s first game in Charleston.
Two teams from each regional site advance to the quarterfinals.
The Basketball Tournament is a single-elimination event, featuring 64 teams. The winning squad wins $1,000.000.
