D&E releases men’s and women’s cross country schedules
ELKINS — Davis & Elkins head men’s and women’s cross country coach Jason Pyles has announced the 2021 schedule.
After competing in an abbreviated cross country season in the spring 2021 semester of just two meets, the Senators will return to the course this fall.
Looking to build off the high levels of success since joining the Mountain East Conference (MEC), the Senators open the season in early September.
D&E opens the 2021 campaign on Sept. 3, hosting the Route 33 Cup at Glendale Park in Elkins. Bringing in nearby Glenville State and West Virginia Wesleyan, the Route 33 Cup is an annual tradition that rotates between the three conference schools.
The Senators follow up the Route 33 Cup with a trip to the Bethany Invitational on Sept. 11, before heading out of state for the Lock Haven Invitational on Sept. 25.
D&E wraps up the regular season with a quality test before heading into the postseason, visiting Charlotte, North Carolina, for the loaded Royals XC Challenge, hosted by Queens on Oct. 8.
The postseason begins with the MEC Championships on Oct. 23 at Oglebay Resort. Looking to return to the national stage, the NCAA Atlantic Regionals take place in Lock Haven on Nov. 6.
The 2021 NCAA DII Championships are set for Nov. 20 in Tampa and hosted by Saint Leo.
