Elkins golfers win final home match

ELKINS — Elkins closed out the home portion of the schedule with a victory over Robert C. Byrd Wednesday at the Elks Golf Course.

The Tigers tallied a 147, besting the Flying Eagles by nine strokes.

Tygarts Valley fielded an incomplete squad.

Scores for Elkins included Tanner Miller (44), Lucas D’Angelo (48), Danica Riggins (55), Brooke Tallman (60) and Logan Nixon (62).

Avery Row-Sponaugle had a 61 for the Bulldogs.

Jacob Brannon (50), Mary Felts (52) and Braiden Ingram (54) accounted for RCB’s scoring.

“It was nice to have a home match before the Big 10 (Conference Championships) on Monday,” Elkins coach Dave Baird said.

The Big 10 Championships will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Bel Meadow Golf Club.
