Tigers host Big 10 foes B-U, North Marion

ELKINS — Elkins played host to two of the top teams in the Big 10 Conference in Buckhannon-Upshur and North Marion on Monday for a triangular match at the Elks Golf Course.

The Bucs took team honors with a score of 170, followed by the Huskies (177) and Tigers (205).

B-U’s Landon Hitt and Evan Coffman shared low-medalist honors with North Marion’s Dylan Runner, all three firing 40s.

Tanner Miller led Elkins with a 43, followed by Lucas D’Angelo with a 50, Brooke Tallman’s 55, Danica Riggins’ 57, Cory Harper’s 58 and Thomas Nixon’s 66.

“It was a tough battle against two teams that are the best in the Big 10,” Tigers coach Dave Baird said. “We got another strong performance from Tanner, who has been more consistent with his game.”

Tucker Hurst added a 47, Isaac Lane a 48 and Easton Perkins a 55 for the Bucs.

Evan Hall followed Runner with a 43 for the Huskies, while Will Lemasters carded a 45 and Michael Tarley a 49.

Elkins will visit East Fairmont today and return home on Wednesday for its final home match of the season.
