Bulldogs take 66-59 verdict over Cougars

BAKER — Garrett Gibson had 18 points, eight assists and seven steals to lift Class A, No. 7 Tygarts Valley to a 66-59 win over East Hardy on Monday night.

Gibson also had eight rebounds for the Bulldogs, who built a 33-25 halftime lead and led 51-40 after three quarters of play.

Riley Tackett tossed in a team-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds for TV, while Ezra Scott netted 11 points, Jordan Phillips four rebounds and two blocked shots and Dalton Goode four steals.

Justin Teets had 19 points, Dawson Price 18 and Noah Lang 15 for the Cougars.

The Bulldogs (10-4) will visit Clay-Battelle on Wednesday. The contest was originally slated to be played in Mill Creek but switched due to WVHIT scheduling.

The Cee Bees will now visit TV on Feb. 18.

East Hardy remains home today to face Pocahontas County.
