MGA gymnasts bring home hardware

Mountain Gymnastics Academy gymnasts competed against 10 other teams at the OZ Classic Gymnastics Meet in Kittanning, Pennsylvania on Nov.16 and 17.

In the Xcel competition, Xcel Bronze gymnast Ella McCauley of Coalton finished third on vault. Xcel Gold gymnast Addison Riffle of Elkins finished third on bars and beam, and Xcel Platinum gymnast Mady Hurst from Elkins finished first on floor and third on vault.

The Xcel Diamond team of Kenadi Carte of Montrose, Briana Hollen of Belington, Allison Judy of Bowden, Makenzie Phillips of Philippi, and Emily Tesar of Elkins took home the first place team banner with all five gymnasts contributing to their winning score. Carte finished third on vault, bars, beam and third all-around. Hollen finished second on vault and beam, and also took third all-around in her age group. Judy took third on vault and bars, while placing second on floor. Phillips came in second on bars, third on beam, third on floor and second all-around. Tesar placed third on floor.

In the Level 4 competition, gymnast Addie Grubb of Buckhannon came in first on beam and floor, third on vault, and second all-around. Gabby Garner placed third on bars. MGA’s Level 4 team took home the third place banner. The Level 4 team earned a third place team banner.

Level 6 gymnast Pepper Arbogast of Montrose came in third on beam, and Kaelyn Kirkpatrick of Elkins took third on vault.

Level 8 gymnast Lily Hayes placed first on bars, second on beam, third on floor and first all-around.
