Senators set to host Concord
ELKINS — Weather pending, a full slate of Mountain East Conference action is on tap for today.
Davis & Elkins is at home for the first time in the new year when it entertains Concord.
The Senators enter the contest at the McDonnell Center 5-8 overall and 2-4 in league play.
They look to rebound from a 72-65 loss at Glenville State on Wednesday night.
Three players landed in double figures in the setback, led by Charleston Ponds with 17 points.
Dontrell Jenkins added 14 and Ja’Kobe Strozier 12.
The Mountain Lions are 4-6 and 3-3 in MEC action.
In its last outing on Thursday night, Concord posted a 94-77 victory over visiting West Virginia Wesleyan as Kollin Tolbert bucketed 15 points and Kraig Gilbert 14.
Wesleyan, meanwhile, is also at home today inside the Rockefeller Center vs. Glenville State.
Anthony Crosby scored 14 points off the bench for the Bobcats in Thursday’s loss to Concord, while Stephen Ovia, Alex Mirhosseini and Lamont Jones had 11 points apiece.
Other MEC games on tap for today include Frostburg State at Wheeling, Fairmont State at West Liberty and West Virginia State at Point Park.
Charleston visits Salem in a non-conference matchup.
All contests begin at 4 p.m. for the men, with women’s play starting at 2 p.m.
The Lady Senators are 1-11 overall and 1-5 in league games.
Concord is 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the MEC.
