MGA Gymnasts Win at Polar Bear Meet

Mountain Gymnastics Academy’s Xcel Diamond team beat several larger teams to take 1st place at the Falcon Gymnastics Polar Bear invitational meet in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.

Competing with MGA’s Diamond team, Lily Hayes of Elkins came in 2nd on bars, beam, floor and all-around. Kenadi Carte of Montrose placed 3rd on vault. Mckenzie Phillips of Philippi came in 3rd on bars and Emily Tesar of Elkins placed 3rd on beam.

MGA’s Xcel Bronze team took home a 3rd place team trophy. Harmony Hymes of Belington came in 1st on bars, 2nd on vault and beam, 3rd on floor and 1st all-around in her division. Emma Knavenshue of Elkins placed 1st on vault and beam, and 3rd all-around. Ella McCauley of Coalton came in 3rd on bars, and Ember Loudin of Buckhannon posted a 1st place score on bars in her division.

Other notable finishes for MGA include Xcel Gold gymnast Addie Grubb from Buckhannon with a 3rd place finish on floor. Also competing at the Xcel Gold level, Ava Graham of Coalton came in 3rd on vault.

On the Xcel Platinum team, Mady Hurst of Elkins placed 3rd on bars, 2nd on floor and 3rd all-around.

Alexis Riffle, an MGA Xcel Silver gymnast from Elkins, placed 3rd on Beam.
