CANCELLATIONS

TVHA MEETING: The Tygart Valley Homestead Association meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled.

NWTF BANQUET: The Tygart Valley Chapter of National Wild Turkey Federation banquet scheduled for May 16 at the Gandy Dancer has been canceled. The banquet will be rescheduled. For more information, call Don Thomason at 304-636-6454 or Ray Mearns at 304-338-6025.

GUN BASH: The Harman Volunteer Fire Department’s gun bash scheduled for May 16 has been canceled and rescheduled for July 25.

AA MEETINGS: Local AA meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Mondays, 8 p.m. Tuesdays and noon Thursdays at Grace Episcopal Church in Elkins have been suspended until further notice. For emergency help, call the West Virginia AA Helpline at 800-333-5051.

LODGE 108 A.F. & A.M.: All meetings of Elkins Lodge No. 108 A.F. &A.M. have been canceled for the month of May.

VIDALIA ONION SALE: Because of the COVID-19, the infamous Tygarts Valley Shriner vidalia onion sale that was to be held in May has been canceled. We are going to attempt to reschedule this fundraiser in the fall. Thank you for your past support, and we hope to again raise funds for our Shriner’s kids, families and staff in the future. Be safe during these difficult times.

COALTON DAYS: Coalton Days scheduled for June 9-13 has been canceled/postponed.

REGIONAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY: Elkins-Randolph County Regional Airport Authority will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the airport terminal building.

QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION: The Elkins – Randolph County Chamber invites all business owners/operators and the community at large to participate in a live, virtual Q&A session with Quint Studer, author of “Building A Vibrant Community” at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

meat shoot: Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5781 will host a meat shoot from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. May 16 at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call Danie Ours at 304-227-4349. The next shoot is scheduled for June 20.

EABA STRAWBERRY SALE: EABA strawberry sale delivery will be from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. May 22 at Elkins Fire Department.

100 MILES IN 100 DAYS: Registration for 100 Miles in 100 Days is now open. Register online then download your mileage log to be ready. Registration will be open through May 27. Participants will start logging miles May 27. Last day to log miles will be Sept. 2. Deadline to turn in miles is Sept. 6. For more information, go to www.dhs100miles.com.

SPAY TODAY: A local reduced-cost spay and neuter program, offers locations in nearby Hardy County. At the time of surgery, initial tests and shots can be obtained at lower rates, too. Contact Spay Today, our area’s nonprofit, reduced-fee spay and neuter program. There are many vets to chose from in nearby Hampshire, Hardy and Mineral counties.
