Davis Medical Center earns accreditation

1 min read

ELKINS -- Davis Medical Center's Cardiovascular Lab has earned validation as a leader in vascular testing with accreditation for outstanding quality in the areas of extracranial cerebrovascular testing, peripheral venous testing and peripheral arterial testing.

The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission granted them a three-year term of accreditation, according to a news release.

"To achieve this accreditation, we met high quality metrics and underwent an intensive review of our cardiovascular lab processes by a panel of medical experts," said DMC Radiology Director Debbie Dean. "It's a 'seal of approval' that patients can rely on Davis Medical to provide a consistently high level of cardiovascular care and commitment to continuous improvement."

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the No. 1 killer in West Virginia, accounting for nearly a quarter of the state's deaths.

Early detection of life-threatening heart disorders, stroke and other diseases is possible through the use of vascular testing procedures like those done at Davis Medical Center.
