Elkins City Hall News

The City will hit the ground running at 10 a.m. Monday next week with a jam-packed Finance Committee meeting agenda. Members will be considering the fiscal year 2020 Enterprise Fund budgets, City Hall upgrades and untended grounds of vacant properties, among other items.

Later that same day, at 3 p.m., the Recycling Committee will discuss applying for a West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Recycling Assistance Grant in support of the Elkins-Randolph Recycling Center and the Randolph County Solid Waste Authority.

Tuesday evening City Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m., the purpose of which is to handle all the regular business of council that would have normally been addressed at the regular third Thursday meeting. Thursday, June 20 is West Virginia Day and therefore City Hall is closed and the council meeting cancelled. Some of the business on hand is the second and final reading of the ordinance to vacate an alley near Summit Street, several budget items expected from the Finance meeting, an Emergency Communications Plan for the City recommended from the Communications Committee.
