PHILIPPI -- From making scrumptious foods for specialty teas, to hosting those teas, to helping with various food events, to decorating for the holiday season, to greeting visitors to the house, to cleaning the house, to assisting with the Gift Shop, to washing dishes, and to many other frequently "behind the scene" unheralded jobs, volunteers help keep the doors open at Adaland Mansion, according to Ann Serafin, executive director since Adaland first opened its doors to the public.
Adaland's Board of Directors along with Serafin acknowledge the importance of the scores of people who make up Adaland's core volunteer group. And with the holiday season approaching, Adaland once again is issuing a call for volunteers who love to decorate for the Christmas season and for people who just like to volunteer to assist the community. The holiday decorating will begin in less than a month.
Those who would like to add their helping hands to transforming the 1870 mansion into a holiday wonderland should call 304-457-2415 for a schedule of holiday events that need volunteers and for days when the decorating will take place.
