ELKINS — A free picnic this Saturday has been designed as a celebration for the community, as the Davis Health System Foundation marks its 10th anniversary.

Foundation Director Mike Bell said the picnic will feature music by local artist Seth Maynard; rock painting and other children’s activities; as well as free hot dogs, sides and drinks while supplies last.

“This picnic is truly a thank-you picnic to the community and everyone who has supported the foundation through the years,” Bell said.

He noted many people have given donations in support of programs and services at Davis Health System, such as the Davis House, the Davis Medical Center Cancer Care Center, renovations to the DMC Emergency Department and more.

“Every gift has made a difference, whether they gave $5 or $50,000. It really has,” Bell said of those who’ve made donations.

The 10th anniversary Community Celebration Picnic is set from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Sycamore Pavilion in Elkins City Park.

Those attending are welcome to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the live music, food and children’s activities.

The Davis Health System Foundation was established in 2007 to support the programs and services of Davis Health System and to provide the opportunity to advance healthcare through giving.

Gifts can be made to the foundation’s general fund, or gifts can be designated to help the General Patient Assistance Fund, Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund, the Transforming Care TogethER Campaign or other foundation initiatives.
