ELKINS -- Dr. Garrett Butler, family medicine physician, will begin seeing patients at Davis Medical Center locations in Buckhannon and Philippi in November. Evening hours are available.
Butler will see patients at Buckhannon Medical Care located at 11 N. Locust St. in Buckhannon. In Barbour County, he will hold clinic at Broaddus Family Care, 6 Healthcare Drive on the campus of Broaddus Hospital.
Patients can schedule an appointment at either location.
Butler earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, graduating in 2014. After completing his residency with experience in various medical disciplines, he chose family medicine so he could care for a diverse population of patients.
"Medicine is about education," Butler said in a recent news release. "It's about spending time and teaching how to heal, how to manage, how to have better health.
"I believe in going beyond giving patient care, there's much more to medicine than that," he said.
In addition to his medical degree, Butler holds a Bachelor of Science in physics from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Towson University in Towson, Maryland. He is also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, National Rural Health Association, Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and West Virginia Board of Medicine: WV 26718.
Butler is a member of the Davis Medical Center Hospitalist team, providing specialty care for acutely ill patients who are hospitalized.
