PHILIPPI -- Those looking to take advantage of free and discounted health screenings should mark their calendars for April 14 when the Barbour County Community Health Fair will be held at Broaddus Hospital from 7 a.m. to noon.
The event offers a host of free health screenings, discounted lab profiles and other tests, and health and wellness information. The discounted blood tests are one of the most popular screenings. The health panel includes complete blood count, lipid levels and comprehensive metabolic chemistry. Additional tests are PSA (prostate specific antigen), TSH and HA1C. Blood tests will be provided by the Broaddus Hospital laboratory from 7 until 10 a.m.
The Radiology Department will offer aortic and carotid artery screenings. Appointments for these tests are required and may be scheduled by calling 304-457-8162.
