Woofstock slated for Saturday

ELKINS — The Randolph County Humane Society Animal Shelter is hosting the fifth annual Woofstock event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Due to flooding at the Elkins City Park, the Woofstock event has been moved to the Elkins Town Square at the Railyard Depot, officials said.

Planned for this year’s event, there will be games, activities, events, a Mountain State Street Machine Cruise-In, entertainment, food, an off-site adoption, tie-dye shirts, pet parade, raffles, an auction and more Participants are invited to bring their leashed pets with their family to Town Square for an enjoyable day of family fun.

Chicken dinners are $10 each. BBQ and raffle tickets are available at local veterinarians’ offices, Fancy Paws, S&T Bees, Reliable Roofing, Triangle Heating & Cooling, the Animal Shelter, or from RCHS Board members.

Proceeds from the event go to the Humane Society.

The Animal Shelter is a small, non-profit animal shelter which serves the communities of Elkins and Randolph County. The shelter cares for around 2,000 homeless cats, dogs and other animals each year.
